SPL Makes Us All Think Dirty For A Second

Using words like “Front End Pack and Back End Pack” turn us all into junior high kids and mentally we start to giggle when we see things related to butts. Well SPL isn’t an American company so they probably didn’t get the memo about the names or maybe they did and are using our toilet humor to sell gear. Either way, SPL makes some great gear and I only wish they could’ve make a pack with a Transient Designer 4 in it or an old school Optimus Prime!!!

For the first time ever, the German manufacturer bundles hardware and software products into two different packs, which will be available until the end of the year. Choices include hardware products to place in the signal path before or after your computer.
SPL offers a “Front End Pack” and a “Back End Pack.” Each pack includes free licenses for some of SPL’s own Analog Code® plug-ins. If you buy a Track One you get a “Front End Pack,”which includes the EQ Rangers and TwinTube Analog Code® plug-ins. If you go for the SPL 2Control instead, you get a Vitalizer® plug-in as part of the “Back End Pack.” The offer is valid through December 31, 2010, at all participating dealers.

Product Information
Track One
The Track One is one of SPL’s best sellers thanks to its great features and outstanding price-performance ratio. International radio and TV stations (like NDR, Radio France, etc.) equip their studios with this front-end unit.
2Control
The concept behind the 2Control is ideal for DAW monitoring: two channels, two sources, two loudspeaker sets, and two headphones, everything under control with the 2Control. Its features and sound are also winning fans among hi-fi enthusiasts: the German hi-fi magazine Stereo did a comparison test and the 2Control came out winner with a very unusual mark of 100 out of 100.
EQ Rangers Analog Code Plug-ins
Plug-in set that includes the Bass Ranger, Vox Ranger and Full Ranger EQ modules.
Twin Tube Analog Code Plug-in
The Twin Tube Analog Code plug-in yields tube-sound effects from your computer, with separate saturation and harmonics controls for more glaze and presence.
Vitalizer® Analog Code Plug-in
The patented Vitalizer sound optimization technology has been a favorite among mixing and mastering engineers all over the world for decades. The outstanding quality of the Analog Code programming can now faithfully translate the Vitalizer technology into the digital domain.
SPL Analog Code® Plug-ins
While SPL hardware products have been fascinating audio professionals from home studio owners to mastering engineers in the world’s most renowned facilities for years, the need for this technology in the form of plug-ins has also been an ever-growing demand. With the Analog Code® plug-ins we have finally accomplished our much desired goal: to transfer to the digital domain the high quality we have striven to achieve with our analog processors throughout several decades.
The first time we ever heard a software that fulfilled our expectations, one of our hardware developers proudly declared “we have broken the Analog Code” — thus was coined the name of our digital products.

About SPL
SPL electronics GmbH has more than 25 years of experience in the design and manufacturing of analog and digital audio processors for the music, film, multimedia, and broadcasting industries. SPL products are well-known and respected worldwide for their innovative approach and user-friendliness, but most of all for their outstanding performance.
Among SPL’s most celebrated developments are the sound optimization processing used in the VITALIZER® products; the first-ever level-independent dynamic processing technique, implemented in the TRANSIENT DESIGNER, which inspired a whole new range of products; the world’s first discrete 5.1 microphone system, ATMOS® 5.1; as well as the SUPRA op-amp with its unsurpassed 120 V operating voltage. The SUPRA op-amps are the foundation of SPL’s stereo and multichannel Mastering Series, which has set new benchmarks in audio signal processing, outperforming any analog or digital audio format existing to date.
In 2008 SPL formed a new team of software developers and accomplished a breakthrough in developing digital products. Finally, the high-quality standards SPL stands for could be translated into the digital domain. SPL’s ANALOG CODE® plug-ins have ever since provided software processors that faithfully emulate their analog counterparts thanks to the most advanced component modeling techniques.
