I’ve always used Reason. As a matter of fact, I’ve used it in about 80% of the tracks I either produce for clients as well as myself. It is a staple in modern music and if you play around with it long enough, you will hear a great deal of familiar elements from popular songs.

Reason 6 & Reason Essentials
Continuing my days of yore memories in audio recording, we come across one of the first sequencing programs I started using (and still use today when I’m not using Maschine,) Reason. This program has come a long way from where it began as a few synths and drum loopers in one rack space. Although I never used it stand-alone, I throw it into Pro Tools regularly and from what I can see, this is a major update to the software. I’ve got a soft spot for CAD mics due to the fact that my first Mic was a handheld CAD Condenser mic which I used on everything because… well… it was my only mic. That and my dad’s Alesis ADAT and Mackie 1604 VLZ. Ahh the nostalgic days of one takes and bouncing tracks.
