Rob Papen: Punch Update

Rob Papen has issued an update for their beat making Punch plug-in. I’ve actually got a review on the way for this program and a few other of Rob Papen and so far I’m really digging this drum module. It is extremely versatile, especially for house and dance music. There is a reason this is a go-to program for a great deal of producers and it just got even better.

With Punch, Rob Papen delivers a brand new speaker busting, body rattling software instrument. Punch delivers synthesized drums in the finest audio quality and with breathtaking features for the contemporary producer.
You can can use synthesis and the build in samples to build your own unique sounding drum-kit, but also your own samples can be loaded into Punch to complete your kit. Your sounds can then be crafted using the stunning features, filters and huge synth power we all know from other RP synthesizers.
Punch has a unique sound but also built in sequencers, allowing you the user to have multiple patterns at your finger tips. These grooves can be triggered in a live environment to build a song, but are also great for just improvisation and jamming!
Also featured are a growing amount of drum-kits built by 3rd party designers and famous DJ’s which complete the arsenal of power that is Punch…
Some features for V1.02:
– Mac version update for making compatible with OS-X 10.7 (Lion).
– Option to change HD location user samples.
– Mute & Solo for drum pad via mixer screen.
– Sample pitch & amp decay curve.
– Pattern folder command.
– Better memory usage.
– 32 bit float wav support.
– Other small bug fixes.
– A few more presets and drumpresets.

Propellerhead Balance

I’ve always used Reason. As a matter of fact, I’ve used it in about 80% of the tracks I either produce for clients as well as myself. It is a staple in modern music and if you play around with it long enough, you will hear a great deal of familiar elements from popular songs.
Now reason has stepped up their game and have built an interface to work in tandem with Propellerhead’s already stellar software.

Propellerhead Software today unveiled Balance, its first audio interface and foray into hardware. Integrated with Reason Essentials Software, Balance is at the heart of Propellerhead’s complete music making solution.
Balance, a two-in by two-out audio interface for Mac and Windows, is designed for the single person operated home/project studio. Fully USB 2 powered with separate volume controls for monitors and headphones, it contains 8 input connections to keep all instruments, mics and devices connected and ready to record with the press of a button—without software pop-ups or control panels. The included Reason Essentials packs in all the recording editing, effects, instruments and mixing tools needed to create great sounding tracks.
“We looked at recording from our musician users’ perspective. They were spending time concerned with issues other than music making—riddled in installing software, managing cables, setting up control panels, setting gain levels, tweaking recording parameters, and more. It frankly wasn’t as easy and straightforward and it should be,” says Ernst Nathorst-Böös, CEO. “So, we were compelled to create Balance with Reason Essentials to let them focus on creativity and not on technology.”

Works with everyone, perfect integration with Reason and Reason Essentials

Balance’s class compliant drivers on the Mac and ASIO/WMD driver for Windows ensure hassle free installation and compatibility with all applications from iTunes to ProTools. Integration with Propellerhead products goes further. Hardware buttons on Balance bring up a large meter/tuner in Reason and can also enable “Clip Safe,” Propellerhead’s new recording technology that with one click heals clipped recorded audio. Musicians no longer have to worry about losing a great recording because gain levels were too high, and can stay focused on creating that goose bump evoking performance.

Pricing & availability

Reason Essentials with Balance audio interface will be available for purchase worldwide on September 30, 2011 at a suggested retail price of EUR €499 / USD $499.
Any current Reason and Record user who purchases Balance can receive the Reason 6 upgrade for free.

New Version: Rob Papen Predator

Finally!! Something besides a discount on some software. Rob Papen has released a new version of Predator. I’ve actually been looking for a new “go to” synth since my review of Analog Factory and this just might be it.

Predator is a “phat sounding” killer synthesizer that combines inspiring presets and first-class features to make this your ‘go-to’ synth for contemporary music production.
The user interface has been designed so that almost all controls are visible on screen, making it fun and incredibly easy-to-use. And if you’re unsure about a particular synth function, simply right click your mouse to access the help screen.
Predator is packed with powerful features such as Preset Quick Browser, Preset bank mananger, Preset Morphing, Intelligent Preset Variation, MIDI and

Reason 6 & Reason Essentials

Continuing my days of yore memories in audio recording, we come across one of the first sequencing programs I started using (and still use today when I’m not using Maschine,) Reason. This program has come a long way from where it began as a few synths and drum loopers in one rack space. Although I never used it stand-alone, I throw it into Pro Tools regularly and from what I can see, this is a major update to the software. I’d put some random comment in here to try to be funny but I don’t feel like it. Enjoy the info and comment some of your own random thoughts to make up for my lack.

Propellerhead Software today  announced Reason 6, a major update to the award winning music software.  At the same time Propellerhead debuts Reason Essentials, the successor  to Record, that packs all the recording, editing, effects, instruments,  mixing and mastering necessary to sound great in a streamlined package.  Now all Reason products have complete audio recording and editing.
New in Reason 6
Combining all the features from Record, Reason version 6 adds audio  recording and editing, along with Propellerhead’s acclaimed mixing  console with masterfully modeled EQ and dynamics on every channel,  multiple parallel racks, Line 6 amp models, new effect devices plus  additional features. New creative effects designed for

CAD 10th Anniversary GXL Series

I’ve got a soft spot for CAD mics due to the fact that my first Mic was a handheld CAD Condenser mic which I used on everything because… well… it was my only mic. That and my dad’s Alesis ADAT and Mackie 1604 VLZ. Ahh the nostalgic days of one takes and bouncing tracks. I’m sure that mic is around my parents house somewhere along with those horribly produced mushy songs about girls I wrote. If you happened to be one of those females I wrote one of the songs about, my aplologies, I was a very emotional young guy.
Well now CAD is celebrating their 10th anniversary of launching the GXL series. This mic series is probably more versatile than the one I used and definitely looks better. They claim these mics are rugged enough to use in live environments as well, which gives this mic an edge over most mics made just for studio applications. CAD is also offering a microphone package.
That’s not all cad has done. They’ve also released the MH110 Headphones as well.

Compact and road-rugged, the new GXL1200BP condenser is characterized by its open, transparent sound. The mic’s transformerless design reduces distortion and optimizes low-end response, while a uniform cardioid pattern controls feedback. The GXL1200BP’s small size, accuracy and high SPL capability make it ideal for miking overheads, hi-hats, cymbals and stringed instruments.
Offering exceptional performance for price, the GXL2200BP is a large diaphragm condenser microphone that features a sophisticated 1″ gold vapor deposited diaphragm. Exceptional sensitivity and low

Bias PitchCraft: Get It While It's HOT

Can’t afford AutoTune or Melodyne? Well Bias is offering its new pitch correction software for only $20.00 for a limited time. So basically if you’re reading this too late, let this be a lesson to keep up with EverythingRecording daily… or whenever I feel like posting. If this is your first time browsing, Welcome!
Bias PitchCraft is a pitch correction software that uses high quality coding to correct pitch problems without morphing the formants to the point where you sound like a stupid Will I Am song. Sheesh that guy abuses software.

PitchCraft corrects pitch problems in vocal or instrumental recordings, using its high-quality algorithm, while formant correction retains a voice’s natural sound.
PitchCraft can also be used as a sound design tool — for effects such as voice disguise, changing an adult’s voice into a child’s voice, “gender transformation” and a wealth of other creative possibilities. PitchCraft also can be used for “exaggerated” vocal correction effects, made famous by many of today’s leading artists.

Features:
